Obituary of Barbara J. McColl

McColl, Barbara J. (Ritson) Died January 2, 2012 at age 60, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, John A. Ritson and the former Helen L. Greer. Barbara is survived by her son, John Scardella; sister, Suzanne (Peter) Marcus; loving partner, Robert Moss; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues and friends. After excelling in business courses at West High School, Barb worked as a secretary for several Rochester firms. She later pursued a course to become a paralegal and was a court clerk for the Livingston and Monroe County Court Systems, eventually becoming senior court analyst for the Monroe County Court System, a position she held until her illness. Barb held strong opinions, never seeing a shade of green she could embrace or a cat she could tolerate. She loved to dance, was an excellent euchre player, played a mean game of Texas Hold’em, and eagerly looked forward to the weekly challenge of the New York Times crossword puzzle. Friends and relatives are invited to Barbara’s Memorial Service on FRIDAY January 6, 2012 at 11 AM in the Miller Funeral Homes Interfaith Chapel, 3325 Winton Road South.
