I grew up "kitty-corner" from the Russo's and Jackie was my sister Gail's best friend growing up; they remained great friends throughout their lives, and as Gail's "little sister" Jackie was always kind, loving, giving and had a heartfelt interest in me and anyone else she encountered. She was a dear friend to my sister, and an amazing mom/woman all around. She was such a sweetheart to kids- my son still remembers the playdough she made for him one Christmas, & how cool he thought she was for being able to make playdough. :) She was sweet & kind no matter how she felt, and a testament to gracefulness. I will miss her great laugh. Any loss is awful but loss that's far too soon is a very different level of anguish. My hearfelt love & sympathy goes out to the Russo family, the Hotchkiss family, and my Sissy. Wishing you all are embraced in all the love and peace you need to heal.
Love, Cathy

I met Jackie when my daughter Raychel Ghysel started kindergarten at Pinnacle Lutheran. As a Mom with a child starting school for the first time, it was difficult to let go. Mrs. Hotchkiss made me and Raychel feel better. It was not until afterwards that I found out that we were cousins! I felt so lucky to have her as my daughter's teacher, and grateful to know that were related. She was so warm, kind hearted, and understanding. She was this incredible teacher that made school fun, and learning exciting. I am truly honored to have known her as family and as a teacher. God bless her family and friends as you all deal with this tremendous loss.

I was introduced to Jackie a few years ago as a fellow melanoma patient. Jackie very willingly shared her information with me and we became friends before and during our participation in The Livestrong program at the Y.
Jackie was always so upbeat and positive. She had so much concern for others, even when her own health concerns far outweighed ours. When I was down in spirit, Jackie picked me up. She was such an inspiration to me and I will miss her so much.

Jackie and I knew each other long ago at Rush Nursery School when Adam and our son Kyle went there together. She was a lovely person and a good friend to me when I was living in Henrietta. She was in my thoughts recently. I did not know she was ill we had lost touch other than Christmas cards and we regrettably had even stopped sending those in past years. My deepest sympathy to you all for the loss of such a bright light in your family. She was a vivacious and bubbly person. You are all so very young to have lost her. I am sure God needed her bright light shining in heaven. May your memories of her comfort you always.

We have lost a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and neighbor. She was a valiant fighter in her battle with melanoma. Her courage to battle this disease over the years made us realize how insignificant our own aches and pains were. She has left us a living legacy, her three children, who mirror and demonstrate Jackie's wonderful characteristics. Jackie will continue to live in each of them as they move on with their lives and future careers. Brian was Jackie's knight in shining armor during her battle providing love, comfort and support when she needed it the most. He was her champion during the good and not so good times. Last but not least is "Morgan" who she loved and who stayed by her side bringing her comfort without a word being exchanged. Jackie, your presence was brief but you touched many of your family, friends and neighbors with a beautiful smile and thoughtful words. We love you and you'll always be in our hearts.

I have fond memories of Jackie and feel blessed to have known her. We shared play dates with our kids, volunteer activities at church and school, and many, many cross-country and track meets cheering on our kids. Jackie was a true inspiration, fighting her illness with real courage and class, while always looking out for her kids and others feelings above all else. Jackie is free of pain and at peace. May peace come to Jackie’s family as you grieve for your beautiful daughter, wife, and mother. She will be sorely missed.

To the Family of Jackie, especially her children. I knew your mom when we were Cheerleaders back in High School. She was fun, vibrant and a had a smile that would light up a room. I lost my own mother in my Senior Year of High school and understand what you are going through. It still surprises me today (after 32 years) the impact that has had on my life. I wish all of you healing thoughts and fun loving memories of her just like I have.

Jackie was one of the bravest, most courageous woman I've ever had the privilege of knowing. She has left us way before her time. I will never ever forget the beautiful, handwritten cards and notes you sent to us when our daughter died suddenly two years ago. Your words were heartfelt and sincere. And even as time passed and others stopped contacting us you still sent a card on what would have been Abby's Birthday and even the anniversary of her death. Only a handful of people did that and you were one of them. I still have your cards and letters and I will cherish them always. I hope you and Abby can meet. I will keep you both in my heart always until we all meet again...
