I don't know if I can say in words of how I feel today. The most strong, courageous, influential, respected person in my life has left us today. She always always was there to listen, give advice, teach, give you encouraging words, support or make you some of the best food you ever ate if you were hungry............:O). She left this world & the people she touched a better place because she was in it. I know you heard it a million times before but I am the truly man I am today because of her and all that she taught me in my life. She lived a good life and brought Sunshine in the life of everyone she touched. I am sadden because I will never she her smile or have her pinch my cheeks again, but know that she is with God and the family that has past before her. They are now blessed with her presents. She left a legacy behind of 96 years that will be thought to equal and I can only hope I can be half the person she was and still is to this day. In her words I will say “This no matter" know that I am in heaven now, but I have not left you behind I am just there for you in a different form now. Grandma remember I will always love you and my you Rest In Peace. You are in my heart and soul for now and until the day we meet again. Love Joey

I first met Mrs. Porkorny over 20 years ago. I was so impressed with the joy her large family gave her and her ability to stay strong and so independent at the same time. Rest sweetly dear heart in God's love.

I enjoyed the way we would take the bus together when I was a little girl and going to Midtown always. We would always go to the pet store down stairs. The many fun times we had going with St Monicas chuch to Sunnemburg gardens, you walking me to St Monicas school everyday. I remember how the class had a costume party and I was hte only kid with no costume and then their was a knock on the door and there my grandma was with a bugs bunny costume soaking wet. She walked in the pouring rain to bring that to me. My grandma taught me how to pray in German when I was 4 years old well 28 years later I still remember it. God Bless You Grandma:)

I remember always going with grandma on the bus to midtown and us going to the pet store there that was downstairs. Grandma and I also seen at midtown Elvis's pink cadilac. I remember when I was in kindergarden at St Monicas School and all the kids had a costume for Halloween but me and then their was a knock on the classroom door and their was grandma with a bugs bunny costume for me, she walked there in pouring rain. I wrote this poem for you Grandma Pokorny: God looked around his garden and saw an empty space, he then looked upon the earth and saw your smiling face. Gods garden must be beautiful he always takes the best. For the Lord had a reason he took you up to heaven and shielded you with grace. It broke all of our hearts to see you go, but you did not go alone for a part of us went with you the day God called you home. God bless you Grandma~ Love Heidi Ben And Little Russy<3 <3

I am sorry I could not spend more time with you, Grandma. But I will always keep you in my heart My fond memories of you will always be there, like the times you gave me 10 cent to get my Twinkies, bailed Uncle Joe and me out of jail and the way you always tried to help your Family. Mary always considered you her Grandmother too, Mary's health has taken a turn for the worst, so keep an eye out for her in Heaven. We Love you Grandma.
