Edward F. Biswanger
Passed away on March 9, 2012 at St. John's Home. He was born on February 14, 1919 to George and Jane (Bassimier) Biswanger in Rochester. Ed was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Catherine Neighbor, whom he married on January 11, 1941. Ed would foundly say that the Lord said, "Love Thy Neighbor" and so he did. Ed is survived by his two sons, Robert (Margaret) of Syracuse and John (Alinda) of Colorado. He has six grandchildren, Robin (Jason) Howe, Robert, Jr. (Martha), Kristin (Matthew) Tierney, Adam, Matthew (Laura) and Aleece Peters. He has ten great grandchildren, Meagan, Mattie, Connor, Brady, Michael, Zachary, Alexis, Hayden, Sophia and Brett and a great great granddaughter Kymmi.
Ed graduated from Madison High School, attended R.I.T. and the University of Rochester. He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving as a cryptographic instructor in the Pacific Theater. He was employed at Optical Gaging as a designer and at Bausch & Lomb for 40 years as a drafting supervisor. He was an outgoing person who was past commander of the American Legion, member of the Masons and player manager of the Optical Gaging softball team. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at St. John's Home for 20 years . He was president of the Church Council at Trinity Emmanuel and property chairman at Incarnate Word Lutheran Churches.
Family and friends are invited to call at Miller Funeral Homes, Inc. (3325 Winton Rd. So. Click for a Map to the Funeral Home) on MONDAY from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
Ed's funeral service will be celebrated in the Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word (597 East Avenue Click for a Map to Church) on TUESDAY at 11:00 AM.
Interment White Haven Memorial Park.
