Obituary of Virginia C. Wixom

Peacefully on April 19, 2012 at age 85. Survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John F. Wixom; children, Kathy (Gary) Cook, John (Neli) Wixom, Janice Wixom, Dolores (David) Dobjeleski, Elizabeth Wixom, Joseph (Nellie) Wixom; grandchildren, Richard (Holly), David, Jeffrey (Cheyenna), Jennifer (Andrew), Michael (Tawnya), Sarah, Matthew, Rachel, Lauren, Alexander; great grandchildren, Allison, Cody, Zachary, Grace, Melissa, Brayden, Christina, Austin, Ashley, Aiden, Isabella; sister, Dorthea (Russell) Simone; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Predeceased by her grandson Steven Cook. Virginia was born September 1, 1926 in Van Etten, NY. She graduated from Van Etten High School, then attended Mercy College of Nursing. She had a fulfilling 50+ years as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed traveling and had a special passion for all of nature especially the Rocky Mountains. Her faith in God and devotion to her family was the center of her life. Virginia's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anne Church (1600 Mt Hope Ave.) SATURDAY (4/21/2012) at 10:00 AM. Interment Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends may contribute to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
