Obituary of John Edward Engdahl

On April 28, 2012 at age 75, after a long and courageous battle with Type I Diabetes. Survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jane; their 3 daughters, Elizabeth J. Engdahl of Washington, D.C., Janice (Mel) Mecham of Culver City, CA and Karen (Paul) Dugan of Brighton, NY; 5 grandchildren, Caroline, Michael and Kevin Dugan, Olivia and Rachel Mecham; sister, Marion (John) Hardesty; brother, Lawrence W. (Marlene) Engdahl; sister-in-law, Nancy (Alan) Grant; many loving nieces and nephews. Jack received his undergraduate degree from Boston University (Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity) and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He was a Certified Public Accountant. A serious fan of all Boston sports teams and UConn basketball, he cheered them through victory and defeat. He was a life-long chess player and an avid gardener who found joy in all things outdoors. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family at Miller Funeral Homes (3325 Winton Rd. S CLICK FOR MAP) on Wednesday from 3-5 PM. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 5 PM in the Interfaith Chapel at the funeral home. Burial will be in Massachusetts this coming weekend. Service Info
