Leafie was a great spiritual model for embracing all life has to offer and seeing the best in every situation. I remember her ever active: cross country skiing, horseback riding, fossil hunting, quarry hiking, swimmin' at the lake, singing, sewing, volunteering at the Clothesline Art Show. Sundays at church, then Jay's Diner for lunch and hotdog/ popcorn/milkshake dinner. One time she fixed edible flowers for dinner! Life was an adventure. She was magic and one of the best persons I have ever known. I thank God for the gift of Leaf E. Drake.

Leaf will always live in my heart as my wonderful, high-energy aunt who made life an adventure. I cherish her model of always jumping into life with both feet. I was grateful to be able to visit with her this summer and see that, even when physical ailments limited her mobility, her happy spirit endured. She was a remarkable woman.

As a child and even later into adulthood, I was fortunate to have spent several days/night with my Aunt Leafie at the cottage on Canandaigua Lake. I have so many fond memories with her on that lake. Mostly being in/on the water or in the kitchen with her sisters. The list of events from being on that lake are always followed by smiles and laughter. She always went out of her way to make everything fun - from water pistols to trips into town to Wegmans. The list is much too long to present here, but memories that I will cherish forever. Sincerely -
Chris Gavazzoni

My deepest sympathy to the Drake family. I knew Leaf through the Rochester Philharmonic League when we would be escorts for the thousands of school children coming through the Eastman Theatre doors for Intermediate and Primary concerts. She was a delight to know and we will miss her.

I only met Leaf briefly but have had the pleasure of being friends with Jen and Douglas for over 20 years and know that they are the products of parents who loved them and showed them how to be true to their dreams and follow their hearts.and be good friends. I loved the slideshow and value the stories I have heard of Drake family adventures and antics. Here is to a well-lived life.

Our condolences to Leaf's family. She and her husband Donn were very supportive in my youth at John Calvin Presbyterian Church and later when I decided to attend Grove City College. I too met my wife there. Their generosity and their love for Grove City College continues to inspire my wife and I.

The Sumner family is grieved to learn of the passing of our wonderful friend of many years, who was a second mother to our daughter, Wendy. Her light and joy will be sadly missed. Because of the distance, our Nashville family does not expect to be able to attend the memorial service. We extend our deepest condolences.
