Obituary of Lois E. Drake

Leaf E. Drake passed away of natural causes on December 23, 2012. She had been born in Johnstown, PA on May 22, 1926. Her parents were James O. Easton, Sr., and Leora C. (Beale) Easton. She was pre-deceased by her husband Donn P. Drake, University of Rochester Research Administrator, and her brother James O. Easton, Jr. She is survived by her children, Douglas (Joni Papp) of Bellingham, WA, Dana (Wanda Carey) of Pittsford, NY, and Jennifer (Christopher Ross) of Eugene, OR; her younger sisters, Barbara (Spurgeon) Johns of Philadelphia, PA and Connie (Norman) Gavazzoni of South Bend, IN and 1 niece and 5 nephews. She received a Bachelor of Science at Grove City College. She flew in a Republic Seabee with Donn to Rochester, New York. She served as a research assistant in a hospital, and served most of her life as a homemaker. She was a member in good standing of University of Rochester Women's Club, University of Rochester Garden Club, Memorial Art Gallery, George Eastman House, and the Genesee Valley Orchestra & Chorus, singing alto. She had golden hair all her life, and she maintained a bright and cheery positive attitude. She was loved and cared for by Homestay Companion Care during her last days.
