Obituary of Ronald G. Chesterton

Ron joined his Heavenly Father on Monday March 18th 2013 following a hard-fought battle against a long term illness at the age of 64. Predeceased by his parents, Jerome and M. Elizabeth Chesterton; Brothers Richard and David Chesterton. Surviving are his wife Norene; children, Lisa (Eric) Anderson, RJ (Heather) Chesterton, Matthew (Svetlana), and Michael Chesterton; 7 grandchildren, Hayley, John, Joey, Ian, Henry, Elijah and Lucy; sister-in-law Nancy Chesterton; several nieces and nephews. Ron’s professional and personal accomplishments were punctuated by his strong work ethic and loyalty that is second to none. Following his service in the National Guard, Ron spent 40 years of his career in the construction industry. He spent his retirement years in dedicated service to Honor Flight in recognition of America’s veterans. While he was a loyal Buffalo Bills fan, an avid gardener and grill master, Ron’s true zest for life rested in spending time with family and friends. He had a unique gift of making another feel like the most important person in the world. His love for others was unconditional, and his appreciation for tradition served as the glue that was the catalyst for the close-knit and loving family he raised. Ron leaves behind a legacy that is highlighted by unshakeable integrity and character. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Norene, of 42 years and an adoring “poppy” to his seven grandchildren. To his three sons and daughter, he was a pillar of strength and consistency, who will be sorely missed. “…Your flesh will be restored to its youth…” Job 33:25 Friends and family are invited to call Friday March 22, 2013 from 2–4 PM and 7-9 PM at Miller Funeral Homes, Inc.
