Mr. & Mrs. Ackley, Although you do not know us, we were college friends of John's and would like to offer our most heartfelt condolences to you at John's passing. As 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18 says, "Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words." May God's peace be with you and your family!

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. May you find comfort from the memories you will always have and the caring words at Psalm 34:18 which says that God is near to those broken at heart and he saves those crushed in spirit. He promises to soon swallow up death forever and wipe all the tears from our faces. It is my wish this message will bring you some comfort and hope.

John and I were classmates at Pittsford-Mendon High Schoo, and although I haven't seen John in years, his gentle personality and warm smile has left an indelible impression on me as an adult. I will say a Mass for him next week and will keep your family in my daily prayers.

Comments: Please forward this message to Mr/Mrs Edward Ackley.... Dear Ed and Agnes: This morning, I read of the unfortunate and untimely death of your son John. There are no words to describe the utter grief that I am feeling right now, and I cannot possibly imagine the shock and sorrow that has been thrust on your family as well. I will always remember fondly the experiences he and my kids had in our early days. And the last time he and I were together when in California. He was always very amusing and hospitable. It is true that he was taken from us too soon, and I think you share my sentiment that it feels a little unfair that such a smart and talented young man's life has ended with so much living left to do. It is my firm belief that bad things that happen to good people serve a greater good, and John's death will, I believe, teach us all something if we only let ourselves be taught. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Respectively Yours, Donald Consler
