Ward Dakin

 

Pittsford:  Passed away after a brief illness on July 15, 2018 at age 96.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Morrill Dakin, Harriette Anderson, Mary Wales, Col. Hollis Dakin, US Army.  He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lois (Clark) Dakin; children, Ralph “Ed” (Diane) Dakin, Bonnie (Peter) Siciliano, Wendy (Mark) Pohlman, Nancy (Scott) Hamp, Holly (Reggie) Dakin-Parker; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. 

 

Ward was a proud US Navy Veteran, serving 4 years during World War II.  He was a retiree of Eastman Kodak, an active member of Brighton Presbyterian Church, a tennis player, an avid outdoors-man, NRA youth instructor, a fisherman and a “fisher” of men.  Ward will be remembered as a devoted family man. 

 

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, July 19th from 6-7 PM with a service to follow at 7PM in the Brighton Presbyterian Church, (1775 East Avenue, Rochester, NY 14610).  Interment will be held privately in Concord, NH.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brighton Presbyterian Church in his memory.
