I met Henry at AAII meetings and after awhile we decided to have lunch together. We would meet every 2 to 3 months and share ideas and just talk about life. Henry would always prepare for these meetings by making notes on a 3x5 file card and would check off the topics one by one as we discussed them. Henry was a good source of info, for example when I needed hearing aids, he steered me into joining OSHER at RIT so that I could use the hearing services at the NTID. In the last year or so Henry lost some of his balance, he stopped driving and we would meet at his house or I would drive him to a restaurant. I was fortunate to see Henry right up until the end and was amazed at how alert he was. At one of my last visits, he insisted that Yvonne give me $5 for his AAII dues, even though he had not been to a meeting in over a year (and would not be going to any more). I have put off writing this because I do not want to admit that he is gone, but I guess it is time to say good by good friend I miss you a lot.

In memory of My Uncle Henry, an Irish funeral blessing, "God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered “come to me.” With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best."

Henry was the first SCORE member I co-counseled with when I joined SCORE in 1998; I will miss his smile when I would see him at meetings.

To the Loved ones of Henry.
My desire that in this difficult time all your family and friends receive the comfort they need. John 5:28, 29 contains words of hope to give us wonderful hope for the future resurrection where we eternally enjoy the company of our beloved without diseases and suffering.
(Psalm 37:11, 29) Have comfort and peace.
