I am so sorry and sad that Aunt Rada has passed. We have always lived so far away and never knew how to find people. I have such fond memories of Aunt Rada and her humor. I wish Shirley and I could have been able to see her and our cousins over the years. We were the closest cousins since Mom and Rada were the youngest. I am sorry I did not know about this until today. All my love and best wishes to Nancy, Brenda, Sue, Sandra and Pam. She is with Gerald Lee now.

Nancy, Brenda, Sandra & Pamela, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. She was one of our favorite Aunts. She was caring, funny and never hesitated to put us in our place if we needed it. I wish we hadn't of moved so far away when we were kids. Some of my favorite memories growing up was going back east to Grandma Stratton's house and to your house in Madison. Walking to the pond to swim with Gerald & you girls is one of my favorite memories. We always enjoyed the stories our Mom would tell of her & Rada growing up.
I hope you girls & your families are all doing well.
Please take care.
Love
your cousin Shirley

To Nancy, Brenda, Sandra, and Pamela,
Sorry to hear of your Mom's passing.
I have many memories of her when you lived in Eaton and Madison.
Gerald was my best friend back in the 60's.
I remember he used to really make her mad, and then we both would laugh about it all day! All good times.

Rada is a dear friend and will be truly missed. It has been my honor to know her and work with her over the last 18 years! I have also enjoyed getting to know her beloved daughters and my thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time of loss. Rada is a woman of very strong faith and I know she is smiling down on you today. Love to all - Patty

I first met Rada at the airport; she waited for Sandra and I at the passenger pickup area.
As we approached her car, a tiny lady stepped out and warmly greeted us. She seemed to be in pain and it became more apparent when she got back into the vehicle. Her back was bothering her and as she shrugged to fasten her seatbelt, I must admit, that considering her age and lack of mobility, I was concerned for my safety. My first thoughts were “is she ok to drive”, but little did I know that inside that frail body there was a person who was full of life and mentally sharp, a little firecracker. The ride to her home was interesting to say the least- Rada started by asking how to pronounce my name, my life story and then made a few wisecracks. In the discomfort of being drilled by her, I happened to notice out of the corner of my eye that we were going well over the speed limit. This was Rada in a nutshell, in pain, curious about others, funny and most of all in command. I am going to miss the fun we shared throughout the years, the way we would poke fun at each other (I like to think that is the way we expressed our affection). Good-bye Rada and thank you for sharing some wonderful moments with me.

Sandy and All, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. It is incredibly sad, the end of an era. I have incredibly fond memories of time spent in your home in Madison with your family. I wish I were there with you. So instead I will share a few thoughts...
Your Mom, was a truly good, lovely and strong lady. She had such a sweet way of addressing people and each of you girls carry this forward. She called me Joycie, just like I was called in my home. She could do anything! Build, finish, repair washers and dryers and look good doing it! We wrestled a washer with her once and put it back together after she replaced a part. Do you know that she taught me how to wash walls? I know you were there. In case you don't remember - the trick is to change the water repeatedly!
Rada served meals in settings that deserved to be photographed and published. I still use your Mom’s tasty beef stroganoff recipe! When she cut my hair I felt so pretty! When I swam in your pool she made me and everyone feel like a model. She invited me to join you on family vacations and let me bring my very peppy little boy. Rada cherished her family, any member can tell you this. So I say a prayer that Rada is having fun in heaven, at peace and I can only hope to see her again one day.
Be well. Write down your memories. I am celebrating Rada's life with you and the tears and my smile just won't stop. She was good and she loved you all very much.
Lots of Love,
Joyce

As a new wife and mother I had so much to learn and every time I spent time with Rada she tought me something new. Cooking and decorating, sewing and infant care just came so naturally to her. She never held back when she thought I needed to know something. (Imagine that!) I am a better person for having known her.

My most favorite memory of Rada is I was concerned about her health. She said if your going to yell at me like my daughters you'd better call me mom. Sweet sweet lady
