I had lost touch with Bekir and Sallie a few years ago after knowing them since 1947. They were both the finest people on earth, and we shared some wonderful times together. Our families went on camping and ski trips together many times, and we remained close for many, many years. More recently, I stayed with Bekir and Sallie whenever I needed medical treatment in Rochester. We would always spend an evening preparing a scrumptious feast - a mix of Turkish dishes and vegan ones. Those evenings were some of the most enjoyable times anyone could imagine. The world has lost two amazing and wonderful people.
