Elizabeth A. Sovages (Higgins) (Savage)
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend was called home to Heaven on February 7th. Predeceased by brothers, Eugene Higgins, Donald Higgins, Billy Higgins and Joe Higgins. Survived by sister, Beverly Higgins Layton of Sodus, NY; and brother, Robert Higgins of California. She leaves behind her son, Thomas (Susan) Savage; her daughter, Lea (Norm) Dill; grandchildren, Joy (Joe) Marvin, Beth (Jeremy) Savage Bender, Thomas Savage II, Theresa (Mike) Richardson and Charles Dill; great-grandchildren, Amber Marvin, Madison Richardson, Austin Richardson, Faith Bender and Mitch Bender; great-great-grandson, Nolan Strickland; as well as several generations of nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth was the owner/operator of Sovages Hots Restaurant on Monroe Avenue from 1964- 1971. She also owned and operated Sovages Proprietary Home for Adults for 30 years. After her retirement, Elizabeth enjoyed travelling with her family, gardening and using her culinary skills to host holiday gatherings and parties for friends and family.
She especially loved spending time with her many friends at the Maplewood YMCA and the Lily Labozo Café, as well as her friends at the Southside Church of Christ.
Family and friends are invited to call on THURSDAY, February 11, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services located at 3325 Winton Road South. Click here for a map to the funeral home.
A Memorial Service will follow in The Interfaith Chapel of the funeral home at 7:00 PM.
