Laurie, Ellie and Rosie..
Your father was such a joy to talk to.
He had such a wonderful sense of humor and it was clear how he spoke about his family how much he loved you all and how proud he was of his daughters and how happy he was to be so engaged in their lives.
I am sorry for your loss and your family will be in my prayers.

I was honored to know Eric as a colleague who became a friend. I will miss him and his warmth, charm, sense of humor, and creativity. He did wonderful things with his students, and they are changed for the better due to his work with them. I know I am changed for the better as well. Bless his heart.

Eric and I were fellow folk DJs on WRUR in the early 90s. He was warm and kind, always fun to talk to. Always interesting. We'd run into to each other occasionally over the years, and just reconnected recently. I feel that that was a gift to me, and hopefully to him too. He was a very special person and I will miss him. He was a pleasure to know. My condolences to Laurie and the girls.

I uploaded a picture of Eric our last day, senior year, when he inexplicably wrote a funny clown wig and managed to persuade our calculus teacher to try it on! He was a great person and our hearts go out to his family.

Eric would often preface a witty remark by peering over the top of his glasses during our happy hours at Purdue which seemed to be constant among our group. I remember trekking over to Laurie and Eric's especially given Laurie had long abandoned Lutz and Vine for the more normal company of Eric. May his hearty chuckles be long remembered.

Life is the big adventure. Some of us know this. Some don't. Eric knew. He had a handle on it. Eric's way was quiet, unassuming, reflective. When Eric did comment, his view was thoughtful, witty, and often very funny; no masquerade for Eric. All of that is over---except the memory of him. When I recall Eric, I will recall of these traits, and I will imagine the depths of his thoughts (mind and heart) that he kept exclusively for himself.

Eric always had a great, humorous and realistic view of the world. We will miss you! We are glad to see that spark still exists in 2 great kids.

Eric coached my daughter in Eastside Little League. He provided constancy, decency, and a model of dedication to all the girls. I was always impressed by his humility in the face of the mental, emotional and physical challenges of his cancer. My condolences to his brave family.

Working at RGH, I met Eric a few times, when he came in with the girls to have lunch with Laurie. Always such a sweet, kind hearted man.
