Obituary of Charles Philip McCabe

Born March 27, 1930 in Kenmore, NY and passed away peacefully on March 3, 2016 in Rochester, NY. He is survived by his wife, Catherine A. McCabe; daughter, Marcy McCabe Reynolds (Roger); son, Charles P. McCabe IV (Karen); step son, William R. "Bill" Santos (Marina); grandchildren, Meghan Fulkerson, Lauren Fulkerson, Charles P. "Chad" McCabe V (Jamie), Leigh McCabe, Robyn McCabe; step grandson, William R. "Will" Santos II. Phil graduated Honeoye Falls High School in 1948, and later served in the USAF. He was an instrument rated private pilot. After earning both a BS and MS in Biology at the University of Illinois, he received a NYS Permanent Teaching Certificate in Secondary Education for General Science and Biology. He taught Biology for 2 years at RCSD and 4 years at RIT evening school. Phil retired from Eastman Kodak Company where he was working on film from the U-2 spy plane. He was a member of the Ely Fagan American Legion Post, a 40+ year member of the SPEBSQSA and the Rochester Chorus of the Genesee. A personal message: "Dying is the last forward step in life to an, as yet, undefined dimension and unknown future called eternity. To those who knew me - thank you for being a part of my life." In accordance with Phil's wishes, there will not be calling hours. Services and interment will be private for the family.
