Obituary of Robert I. Slocomb

Robert I. Slocomb Pittsford: Passed away on May 3, 2016 at age 86. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert & Anna H. Slocomb; brother, James “Jimmy” Slocomb. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Katherine (Fleck) Slocomb; daughter, Ann L. Slocomb; sisters, Ann Merrill, Peggy (John) Hoff; sister-in-law, Linda Slocomb; nieces, nephews and many friends Bob was a graduate of West High School and Clarkson University. He retired from Eastman Kodak Co., Optics Dept., he was an active member of AA II. He was the founder of the Rochester Flying Club in 1958 and remained an active member for 40 years. The Club was a reflection of his lifelong passion for flying and aviation. He especially enjoyed a lifetime of warm Rochester weather activities including enjoying summers on Conesus Lake at the family cottage for over 70 years, sailing and competing with friends through his membership and friendships at the Rochester Yacht Club. His hobbies also included scuba diving which he enjoyed throughout the world. The family would like to extend an enormous Thank You for the extraordinary care given by the 6N Staff of the Jewish Home. Family and friends are invited to call on MONDAY, May 9th from 1:30 – 4:30 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 3325 Winton Road South. Bob's Funeral Mass will be held in St. Louis Church (64 South Main Street, Pittsford) on TUESDAY, May 10th at 11AM, a reception will follow in the parish hall. Interment will be held privately.
