Obituary of Julianne Marie Palma
Julianne was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 4, 1954 and went home to the Lord peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2017, after living with cancer a short time. She is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Deacon David Palma; mother, Lucille Winter; brother, Steven Winter; sister-in-law, Lynn (Michael) Dennstedt; brother-in-law, Jeff R. Palma; niece, Dorilyn (Joshua) Northrup; nephews, Craig (Laurie) Dennstedt, Bryan (fiancée Alyette Keldie) Dennstedt of FL, Atlanta "A.J." (Caitlin) Mattis; great nieces and nephews, God children and many cousins. She is predeceased by her father, John C. Winter.
For forty years Julianne was a devoted, dedicated and gifted teacher. She affirmed and encouraged each of her student’s gifts. During her career, she taught at Good Shepherd School, 21 years at Our Lady of Mercy High School, 15 years at Monroe Community College, Nazareth College and in the Diaconate Formation Program of the Diocese of Rochester at St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry. Many people have commented that her “smile energized a room” and that her “passionate love of learning and reading were contagious.” Her family and friends will miss this creative, energetic, and gentle spirit.
Family and friends are invited to call FRIDAY, January 13th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 3325 Winton Road South. Please join the family SATURDAY at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Church Downtown, 15 St. Mary’s Place, Rochester, for Juli’s Funeral Mass followed by a small reception. Interment at the convenience of the family.
