Obituary of Robert E. DeWald

Robert of Pittsford, was born on August 30, 1931 and died, October 10, 2017 after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Anna DeWald of Willamsport, PA. He is survived by and will be forever missed by his loving companion, Mary Lou Hogle of Henrietta; Son, Robert E. (Suzanne) DeWald, Jr. of Niskayuna; Daughter, Jacquelin K. (Stephen) Bailey of Gilbert AZ; Grandchildren: Robert III and Emily DeWald and Joh, Stephanie and Benjamin Bailey; Siblings, William (Sylvia) DeWald of Geneseo, Harry (Vicki) DeWald of Rush and Mary (Gil) DeWald Hall of Dunlap TN, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Robert’s children here his pride and joy. He was a Grade A role model and parent, the best for which any child could hope. He was always up for a new adventure and found joy in concerts, theater, traveling and playing Euchre and Bridge. He was a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan.

As a Korean War, Army Veteran, Robert was able to be a part of the Honor Flight #52.

He was a graduate of RIT and spent his professional career working for 46 ½ years at Gannett Newspapers. He was the Past Vice President and President of the Pittsford Seniors Club.

The burial service will be private. Family and friends will be invited to celebrate his life at a later date.
