We were so sorry to hear about Gene. He was such a nice person and he crossed our family's life so many times. He was a classmate of my sister in laws. My husband enjoyed working with him for many years at Gleason. In more recent years I learned that he was a relative of my good friend Barb. BArb and I worked together for several years at Penneys. Our family sends our prayers.

My deepest sympathy to Gene's family. Gene was my very first "boss." I started my first job at Gleason's in 1981 in Arbor Engineering with Gene as my supervisor. I was only 18 and had a lot to learn. Gene and the other men in the department were like fathers and teachers to me, especially Gene. He was so kind. I worked at Gleason's until 1992 having moved into the Electrical CAD Department where I met my husband, Glenn. We have been married 31 years and have triplets who are 24 years old. Over all these years I have often thought about Gene and the other people who were such an influence while I worked at Gleason's. Those early years of my life working at Gleason's in Arbor Engineering were some of my happiest times. Thank you to Gene and the memories.

Mrs. Weltzer, Holly, Laurie, and entire family: Paul and I were shocked to hear of Mr. Weltzer's passing. May he have eternal peace. We hope that you all will take our prayers and sincere thoughts as you move through his funeral service and the months ahead. He was a wonderful man, neighbor, and friend to Paul at Gleason Works. Hugs to all of you.

Mrs. Weltzer, Laurie, Holly, and family, so very sorry to hear about Gene's passing. He was a terrific guy and I always enjoyed seeing him. He had a great sense of humor and I fondly remember his laugh. Clearly he loved his family and was very proud of you all. He will be missed.

Holly and family, Our heart goes out to you during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I always appreciated the jokes that you would forward from your Dad. I could always plan on them being very funny and looked forward to sharing most (not all) of them with my co-worker.
Please let me know if there is anything we can do or that you need.

Being graduate apprentices at Gleason Works, and many years following, both of us had numerous opportunities to work closely with Gene and his department, and always found Gene with the highest cooperation and knowledge. It was a real treat knowing him, and that extends into our retirement years where he coordinated our retiree luncheons once a month with Bruce Bragg.
Gene, you will definitely be missed.
