Obituary of Helen Melkis Mack

Helen Melkis Mack passed peacefully on November 18, 2017 after battling many months with illness. She was born February 24, 1953 in Rochester, NY. Helen was predeceased by Antons and Johanna Melkis (parents), George Melkis (brother), Rita Reimanis (sister) and Ilse Melkis (sister). Helen leaves behind her husband Daniel Mack Sr, children Daniel (Rebecca) Mack, Patrick (Darla) Mack, Juliana (Jennifer Sahrle) Mack, Nathan (Lisa) Mack, and grandkids Andrew, Ben, Logan, Alyssa, Raegan, as well as her grandanimals. Helen graduated from Penfield High School and continued her education to receive her RN from Upstate Medical Center and BSN from SUNY College of Technology at Utica/ Rome. Helen was proud of her nursing career as an operating room RN at Genesee Hospital and later as a medical malpractice claims representative. She was an avid gardener and proud Latvian who loved traveling and spending time with her family and animals. Helen gave back to the community as a volunteer for Surrogate Decision Maker Committee and Trillium Health. A service celebrating Helen will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Miller Funeral Home in Henrietta, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trillium Health, Keller's Kats, and Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Rescue.
