I first met Mrs. Curnutt in Japan when Heather and I were growing up in Japan. When I used to visit Heather's house, Mrs. Curnutt always had a smile for me and food and welcomed me warmly. I'm proud to know Heather all these years and know that the qualities of strength... tremendous, formidable strength... fitness, and supreme intellect are qualities that her daughter carries forward into the world and I'm sure her granddaughter will as well. I hope and pray that God carries you all forward in this time of need. My deepest condolences over this painful loss.

My sincere and deepest sympathy to those of you who are fortunate enough to be Nancy's family. She was a caring, friendly, intelligent, athletic, no-nonsense person. I knew her both through mutual friends and also the George Eastman Museum where she led the Council board capably and effiiciently through two terms. I will miss her smiling face and special personality.

Nancy Curnutt was a formative part of my life. I have always remembered her as a strong woman who stepped outside convention if it provided a better life for her and her family. I remember Heather and Michael meditating when we lived in England per direction of Mrs. Curnutt. Pretty ahead of her time. When staying at her house as my parents were often away, I'd complain that what she wanted me to do "wasn't fair". She was the first to tell me "life isn't fair.....now get to it" A hard lesson but one I would internalize and that would make me a better person. I'm glad you got to see your granddaughter. I didn't know how much that affects Grandparents until I myself had a child. I will miss you, I'll miss knowing that your personality isn't out there in the world anymore, affecting people as deeply as it did me.
Love John
