Haven't seen Bill since high school, but I remember him fondly. I often wondered what had become of him. Bill loved science then, and I'm happy to hear he followed his love, making it into a career. My sympathy to the family. May Bill rest in peace.

I'm sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I've known Bill since elementary school at Leary. He always loved anything to do with astronomy. It's fantastic to see someone follow their dreams and succeed as Bill obviously did. I'm sure he knew how proud his family was. Rest In Peace Bill.

My deepest sympathy for the passing of Bill. He was a good co-worker and friend at the Astronomical Applications Department at U.S. Naval Observatory. Although generally quiet, he had a dry sense of humor. He was instrumental in developing two of our primary software products: STELLA (a celestial navigation software) and MICA (a computerized astronomical almanac). His friendship and technical skills will be greatly missed by myself and everyone in the AA department. Thank you for his years of service. May he rest in peace.

I met Bill Harris back in 2015 when I joined Keith Andreano's tabletop gaming group. I started giving him rides there shortly thereafter. Bill was a great friend. It was an utter joy to discuss movies, games, history, sports, and politics with Bill. Although I may not have known Bill as long as others, I considered him to be a good friend. It was with great sorrow that I learned of his passing, and send my sincere condolences.
I wish I could attend the funeral, but unfortunately I have work responsibilities to my company, supervisor, and coworkers. I offer my sincerest condolences to his family. It was a pleasure to meet his parents, siblings, neighbors, and cousin at the hospital; and I'm sure Bill is in Heaven debating Star Wars with Carrie Fisher and playing Champions with Aaron Allston and Michael Satran.
Farewell brother Eagle Scout. I'll see you in the afterlife.

Bill was a good man, a knowledgeable astronomer, and a talented programmer. His work contributed to all of products produced by the Software Products Division of the U. S. Naval Observatory. He will be missed personally and professionally. Eternal rest grant him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
