Obituary of William Thomas Harris

William Harris, known to friends as “Bill,” passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018, at the age of 54 years. He is survived by his parents, Leon and Viola Harris; sister Kristin (Paul) Fien; brother David (Diane) Harris; nieces and nephews Whitney (Matt) Gretton; Katelyn (Jeffrey) Kallas, Michael Fien, Alexandra Harris, Matthew Harris and Joshua Harris; many aunts, uncles and cousins. A native of Rush, NY, Bill attended Villanova University, graduated with a degree in Astronomy and spent over 30 years developing Astronomical Applications for the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. Bill was an Eagle Scout who loved camping with friends and family. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, confirmed Trekkie, role-playing gamer, and a wonderful uncle. Calling hours will occur from 4 to 7 on Friday, January 26 at Miller Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 3325 South Winton Road, Rochester, NY 14623. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 27 at St. Marianne Cope Parrish at St. Joseph’s Rush, NY.
