Gene was an amazing human being, I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile on his face. He was kind, generous and caring. We spoke many times about different bird species we had seen around the NOCO area.
Brookdale Sr Living is where I had the pleasure of meeting Gene.
Rest in Peace Gene.
Thinking of you.

May you rest in the sweetest peace, Gene. It was always an enormous pleasure to see you over the fence at Scott and Connie's house throughout the years. You were always quick to laugh and smile at the silly things my kids did in the backyard. Having you at our house for the holidays was an honor for our family. Your love for Scott and Connie was unending and so incredibly deep. Even more beautiful and heartwarming was the love and pride you had for Adam. He was truly the light of your life. You laughed at every single thing he did and said. You had a special bond with him like no other and the look in your eyes when you saw him was proof of this. Rest easy Gene and may the wings of your beloved wife, Cecelia, hold you and comfort you forever. The Caruana family will miss you so much. God bless you!

My sincere condolences to all of Gene’s family. I met Gene and Cecilia many years ago at St. Mark’s & St. John’s Church. They were an inspiration to us all. Always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. Gene was a funny guy. I remember him well at the Episcopal church home, one time popping his head up from behind the organ in surprise and laughing as my daughter was playing the service. He was such a wonderful man and a good friend. May he be at peace now reunited with his beloved Cecilia. God Bless him.. RIP my friend.
