Obituary of John C. Hammerle

John Comey Hammerle, age 86 of Pittsford, NY passed away peacefully on Feb. 07, 2018. The son of Clarence and Grace Comey Hammerle, "Jack" was born and raised in Johnstown, PA. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Upon returning from the Service, Jack owned and operated a One Hour Martinizing business from 1956 until he sold it in 2006. He also worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue for many years. While living in Indiana for over 50 years, Jack took great pride and was very active in his community; serving on many town boards and committees. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Charline; daughters Michele (Thomas) Maurer of Pittsford, NY and Jane Shaffer of Sarasota, Fl; 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Christina, Michael, and John Michael; one great-grand child Grace; and a brother Thomas of Davidsville, PA. He will be greatly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Betty, and brothers: Robert, Clarence and Charles. Funeral Services were held in Rochester, New York.
