I was so saddened to know that darling Gere had finally lost her battle with cancer. She was a very courageous lady. She always had a smile, a ready laugh, and a warmth that will be missed by all of us who loved her. She adored her family, especially her Charles, who had swept her off her feet when she was just a teenager. They were both still teenagers as far as she was concerned. Her children and grandchildren were an endless source of joy for her. She always had a story handy about their latest activities and how proud they made her. She was light of heart, even in her darkest of days. She never complained nor dwelt on her illness; she was too busy wanting to know what you were doing. Her loss leaves a hole in my heart.
