Obituary of Geraldine Guerin

Geraldine “Gerry” Guerin passed away peacefully on August 27, 2018 at James P. Wilmot Cancer Center with her family by her side. 

Gerry was born Geraldine Miller in Pensacola, Florida March 25, 1939 and later moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana where as a high school teenager she met Charles, her future husband. They wed May 18, 1957, a love affair that survives to this day.  She leaves us all with a huge sense of loss, but also with the comfort of her never ending love. 

Gerry was a wife, a mother, a grandmother: Always willing to travel, quick to help, adored spending holidays and cooking with her children and grandchildren, truly enjoying life as the Lord blessed her. We and her many friends will always remember her beautiful soprano voice and her love for music, enjoyed by many during her twenty-five years with the Rochester Oratorio Society.

She is survived by her husband Charles of sixty-one years; four children Mitchell, Matthew, Lisa, and Marshall; seven grandchildren Megan, Selena, Elijah, Madison, Mackenzie, Chase and Margaux; sister Betty and brother Jerry. 

Charles and the family wish to thank the Wilmot nurses, doctors, and staff for the outstanding support Gerry received over her four years with leukemia – they truly gave her more quality time with us. 

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on September 3, 2018 at St. John of Rochester Church located at 8 Wickford Way in Fairport, New York. The family will receive friends and guests in the Church Gathering Room immediately following mass.
