Obituary of Wendell H. Schillinger
Passed away October 25, 2018 at age 89. Predeceased by his parents, Howard & Sara; sister, Molly Harrington; and brother, Pete. Survived by his loving wife, Valerie; children, Ron (Marlena), David (Monica), Allyson (Bruce) Auburn, Pamela Fousse; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Wendell served in the Korean War in the 5th cavalry and loved his country. He received two purple hearts as well as a bronze star for his service. He then worked at Eastman Kodak working on spy satellite programs. For several years he was the adjutant at Ely-Fagan Post 1151 of the American Legion. He was instrumental in starting the Veterans Memorial Highway.
No prior calling. Wendell's Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, October 30, at 11 AM at Maplewood Cemetery (150 Middle Rd). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ely-Fagan Post 1151 of the American Legion.
