I would like to express my sincere condolences in the loss of your dear loved one. Death is a hurtful thing ,but the bible gives us hope of seeing them again in the promised resurrection to come according to scriptures such as [Acts chapter 24: 15] and [John 5:28-29]. We find further hope in scriptures like [Isaiah 25:8] and [Revelations 21:3-5] which says in part that Jehovah God will wipe out every tear from our eyes and death will be no more, because God will swallow up death forever. I hope these scriptures will be of some comfort.
With Deep Sympathy.

I recall meeting dave for lunch at Joe's Crabs in Caesars Palace forum shops a year or so ago just before he and his wife moved to S.C.and he ordered fried chicken. I said dave we're in Joe's crabs and you're ordering fried chicken?? Arent you ordering seafood? He said no, the fried chicken is excellent here. I have been back to joes 4 times since and order it everytime I go now. And each time I think of dave. The next time will be special and in memory of him. He was indeed a special guy.

I'm so saddened to hear of Dave's passing. He was such a wonderful man and great leader in our industry. I miss his love of Blues music and his never ending nostalgic stories. And his ability to simplify what we did with 3 simple words, "Sell More Shit". Well Dave, now the angels will greet you with your other famous words...."you're sooooo coooooollll!"

Dear Susan:
We've never met but Dave & I worked together at the Sexton Elk Grove branch for a number of years. He was a wonderful, smart man that I learned much from and he will be missed greatly by not only myself, but others in the extended family of ex-Sexton personal, and naturally by you, your children, and your family. May God give you peace that he is in a better place.
Sincerely,
Susette (Sue) Dorsey

My first two boys were born in New Castle, my first sales territory sent there by Frank Bryan. Our second son is named Brian
after Frank who we dearly loved and invited him and Eleanor to my oldest son's graduation at the Naval Academy when they
were living in DC. Dave, Frank and I were all General Managers at the same time for Sexton. I spent 37 years at Sexton so
we were very close and even visited Frank in Central Pa. a few years before his passing.Great people and Dave passed way
too soon. My sincere sympathy.

Dave was such a great friend, with a quick wit and a free guitar lesson. When I was new to Vegas, Dave invited me to the jams he hosted for his colleagues, and it helped me to get to know some great people. He and Sue were such gracious hosts, inviting me to their home for delicious food and killer kibbitz sessions. I'm honored to have known such a genuine dude.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sending my deepest sympathy and a comforting thought to the family of Mr. David. The Father of tender mercies and the GOD of all comfort, comforts us in all our tribulation. GOD made hope for the dead possible by sending His only begotten son Jesus Christ to die for us. I am truly sorry for our loss. Dave hired me back in the 80s in the interview process with the corporate department manager Lee Kinkade I quickly found out what kind of a person I would be working for. He posed the hard questions to Lee that I had never even thought of. I knew from that moment on that he had my back & I would do my best to have his. He was the kind of friend you could trust and follow anywhere knowing he would never steer you wrong.
We were so much better for having knowing him.
I'm still following you Dave, until we meet again

My condolences to the family, he was a true friend and I admired and looked up to him as a division president at US Foods. He was also a great guy and a music enthusiast and we enjoyed every time we got the opportunity to see him jam with the guys. He had great wisdom and I learned so much from him. But my greatest moment was meeting him in person for the first time at pebble beach when we found out he was our new president and learning his signature hand shake! It was something you never forget. He also had a generous heart and I witnessed it several times. He will be greatly missed and I will miss his posts on Facebook of all the places and restaurants he would enjoy.

Dave was President of Rykoff-Sexton, Kraft/Alliant and US Foods here in Rochester when I first started my career under his leadership in 1989. He was able to use his unique personality, his sense of humor to draw people in, to motivate, to succeed. He would throw a couple of casual “fucks” around in his dialogue and we’d all be on the same level. He had a knack for cutting through tense or stressful situations. No bullshit! A great believer in teamwork. He was so modest too. We shared the love of music. I’m so thankful I had the chance to re-connect with him through FB. Like many, i have learned much from him so his contribution to humanity lives on. My heartfelt sympathy to the family. He will be missed for sure.

Hi there,
I worked with Dave at Alliant FS in Rochester, NY. I remember when I was a fresh meat buyer, I had made this tremendous deal on a load of beef ribeyes. The price was positioned in such a way that we would save the customer a good deal of money and could lock us in for quite a while. When it came time for delivery the driver was late and the customer refused the $250k order. I was mortified! At that time I had to approach and tell Dave what I have done and the severity of the situation (it was late Thursday evening). Dave asked me to sit down and close the door (I really thought he was going to give it to me). Dave went into his closet and pulled out a bottle and 2 glasses, he started with "don't worry, this will all work out..." and we talked and drank for about an hour. Dave made me feel like a regular guy not his subordinate and certainly not like I just screwed up.
Anyway, the delivery was finally made, the customer made good money, we got paid and it all worked out.
I am so sorry for your loss, he will be greatly missed.
