She was always so kind to me and always opened her door to me...I was young when I knew her and didn't always repay her and Raymonds kindness to me and towards the end of my knowing them, I wasn't very nice. I am so sorry for that. You were always so kind and trusted me but please know I've never forgotten the kindness and non-judgemental treatment I received from you... even 20 years later. You taught me how to treat people even when You weren't getting the same type of treatment in return. You are a special kind of person, RIP.

My grandma was and is one of the most important people in my life. She left me a legacy to learn from: she worked hard every day during a time when women in the workplace were looked down on. She made God and her family the most important things in her life. Her love saw no boundaries and she loved people and saw through the lies society spoke of them and kept her hospital door open to everyone. She taught me the importance of standing up, using her voice, and using her privileges to help those without one. She listened to everyone’s opinions and didn’t shut people away because they were different or had differing ideas. She told me I could be anything I wanted to be, and she was there to support every step I took. She was kind, loving, and sharp as a tack. She relied on God to get her through the difficult days when life was too difficult and heavy and taught me to do the same. She married the love of her life, my grandfather, even though there were societal walls to break down and pressure from the people she loved that frowned upon intercultural and interethnic marriage, and they were faithfully married for 63 years. She inspires me so much and I strive to be a strong, godly, loving woman like she was who doesn’t care what the world says and continues to love people fearlessly, who works hard, who knows she can be anything, who loves God relentlessly, and who takes care of others.
I love you Bog and I miss you so much ♥️

I send my most sincere sympathies to the whole family. I met Nancy in 1953 at Monroe High school. I pledged the sorority Albegam. Nancy was a senior that year and she had first choice of the pledges and she chose me. I was then her little sister and she my big sister She would watch over me during pledging . Sometimes the other sorority sisters would make the pledges do "chores" for them. Nancy was very protective of me. I still have my scrapbooks and in it was the wonderful note from Nancy when I became a member, I even found her engagement announcement there. It brought back fond memories. I never saw her after she graduated , but I have never forgotten her. I recognized her name as soon as I saw her obituary.
I graduated in 1956 and went to school to become a teacher. I thought I would write this note because it shows how special your Mom was. When my husband passed 15 years ago, I received notes from people who shared special memories of my husband and they were so special to me. Again I express I am so sorry for your loss

Aunt Nancy perfected hospitality and was a straight-shooter, you know what she said and was one of the most original open persons we have ever met. Having the privileged of knowing and spending time with her parents the saying the apple does not fall far from the tree applies. We were always welcome at "The Cottage" and the Arthur's and Whites always held an open invitation, we regret not having time to have accepted more of the invitations, but the ones we did were all special. Uncle Ray and Aunt Nancy's "kids" continued that special hospitality and we were so grateful to form special friendships with them all. I think this will hit us hard in July as it has not yet all "sunk in" as we think that Aunt Nancy and Uncle Ray are enjoying the sunshine and warmth somewhere and we we will see them both this summer, but we won't see Aunt Nancy... but we are certain we will feel her presence at the special place on the lake...the cottage may be gone...but that feeling of belonging to the family and the hospitality will live on. We keep Uncle Ray, Debbie, Tracie, Jack, Norman, Linda, my Goddaughter Sarah, Aunt Dianne and their wonderful families, and of course Judy and Jack all in our good thoughts and prayers.
