Obituary of Nancy Mae White

Nancy Arthur White, 83, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2019 in Hurricane, Utah, surrounded by her family. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Adelaide and Everett Arthur; brother, Thomas Arthur and beloved son David “Whitey” White. She is survived by her faithful husband of 62 years and love of her life, Raymond White. She is also survived by daughters, Deborah [Norman] Wilkins, Tracie [Jack] Tice; sister, Dianne Sangelo; daughter-in-law, Linda; grandchildren, Sarah [Brad] Kane, Jonathan White, Carlie Tice, Grace Tice; five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend Judy Eckel.Nancy was born April 24, 1935 in Rochester, N.Y. Growing up, Nancy spent her summers on Conesus Lake, a place she loved more than anywhere else. Even later in life, she could often be found laying peacefully in the sun on the lake’s shores. She attended James Monroe High School in Rochester. Nancy married Ray in 1956 and lived in New York, California, and eventually spent her summers in New York at her childhood home in Conesus and her winters in Florida. She worked for the Kodak Co. and for the Boston Red Sox during the team’s spring training in Fort Myers, Fla. Nicknamed Bog by her grandchildren, Nancy enjoyed cooking, art, traveling with Ray, spending days on the pontoon boat, shopping, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending time at the Conesus Lake cottage with her family and friends. Ray and Nancy loved attending concerts and taking cruises together. Her door was open to everyone. “Don’t Worry Be Happy” was the last song she heard. She was dearly loved by her family. Nancy’s celebration of life will be held this summer in Conesus Lake, N.Y.
