Obituary of Barbara Ann Normand

Barbara A Normand

Rochester, NY - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9th at age 80. Predeceased by her husband, William D Normand and brother, Donald Froelicher (Patricia).  She is survived by her children Sheila Audino, William J Normand, Robert C Normand Sr. (Leslie) and by her brother RIchard Froelicher (Leona). Her much loved grandchildren Aubrey Conti, Joseph (Ashley) Normand, Robert Carl Normand Jr., Katherine and Michael Audino and many,many family and friends. 

Barbara married her best friend in May of 1960 and became a Registered Nurse in August of 1960 after attending St. Mary's School of Nursing.  She went immediately to work in the St. Mary's Hospital Emergency Department, where she spent the over the next 20 years helping people.  When she left there she started working at the Monroe County Jail, where she spent over the next 20 years as their night nurse.  She was always a night owl!  When the County privatized the medical department she took her retirement and went right back to the same job but for the new private organization.  She was dedicated. 

She loved Las Vegas and would travel there twice a year. She was not a high roller but she usually at least broke even!  She spent her last years at St. Ann's Nursing Home where you could find her cheering on the Mets or watching the Game Show Network. She may have had a secret crush on Steve Harvey!

A memorial service will be held at Miller Funeral Home at 10:00 am April 20th followed by a gathering to remember her. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the Riverside Veterinary Hospital.
