Obituary of Catherine Elaine Ceci

Born April 13, 1941 and died May 29, 2019. She is predeceased by her parents, Harry and Elizabeth (Conklin) Donlon; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie (Donlon) and George Cheresnowski; sister-in-law, Christine Egmond; brother, Joseph Donlon. Survived by her husband of 53 years, Barry Ceci; her son, Scott (Tina) Ceci and his sons, Robert (Anna) Kohl, Aidan, Nick and Killian of Rush, NY; her daughter, Emily (Griffith) Altmann and their children, Vaughan, Ava and Tatem of CA; her sisters, Jacqueline (Jack) McGraw of MA, Beverley Donlon and Bethann Donlon; her brother, Mike Donlon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Catherine Elaine graduated from Hornell High School and Geneseo University with Cum Laude Honors.

Before raising her family, she worked at Cornell University, Rochester General Hospital and the Bell Telephone Company.

Over the decades she enjoyed volunteer work for the American Cancer Society, The American Red Cross, The Valentown Museum, The Strong Memorial Museum of Play, taught religious education, chaperoned field trips for the Rush Recreation Department and volunteered as an assistant leader for the Girl Scouts of America.

Catherine Elaine enjoyed reading, camping and travel. She was a dedicated family person building happy memories with her much loved children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed but her spirit will be with us forever.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday June 11 from 3 to 7 PM at the Ceci Lake House (6112 Wilkins Tract, Livonia NY VIEW MAP). A Memorial Mass will be held AT St. Marianne Cope Parish at St. Joseph’s in Rush (1209 Rush West Rush, Rush, NY 14543 VIEW MAP) on Wednesday June 12 at 10 AM.
