My sincere condolences to the Abbott family. I talked with Elaine many times when she was enrolled in water exercises at the St. John's pool in Brighton. I enjoyed our brief conversations before or after class very much. She was a forthright and intelligent women, and I wish I'd known her better. Her many accomplishments listed in the obituary make me realize how multi-talented she was and that there were a lot more subjects we could have discussed. She wasn't the type to toot her own horn, though. May you have many treasured memories as your hearts are enduring this painful loss.

Dear Rich and Charlie,
I have fond memories of white-water rafting down the Salmon River with you all and Elaine.
You are a wonderful family. Elaine was smart, creative, firm and steady. She sat right here at
our kitchen table in NYC and read a book to our daughter, Caroline, who is now 36 years old.
