Dr. Harriet Kitzman was a force--always gentle, calm, reassuring and dignified--but relentless in her pursuit of excellence on behalf of children and families. With her humanistic approach to rigorous research, she shaped public health policy regarding nurse home visitation to help the most vulnerable among us. It was an honor to have her as a teacher and a friend.

Harriet was one of my all time favorite people. Her passion for the family, especially young mothers, and her contribution to our understanding of how public heath and family systems theory need to be integrated for optimal outcomes will be her legacy. I was so fortunate to know her while she was on our board at Threshold. I treasure her memory and extend my sympathy to Dennis and her family. Phil Yawman, LCSW - Fairport

Hey Dennis! I'm very sorry about the death of your wife. I know it's a sad time for your family I remember meeting your wife a couple of times. She was a very wonderful lady. I remember the story you told me about when she was in Japan for a conference and she could not wait to get back to the USA. Too many people in such a small place. I think she was in Tokyo.
Anyway my sincerest condolences to you and your daughters.
I hope you remember me. I think you will. Bob Enright; I still live in Livonia. Call me sometime so we can talk about our days at RTC.
