I read about Peggy's death in the Star Ledger. I am so sorry for your loss. Death of a loved one is very distressing even if the person is elderly or sick. The Bible teaches us that death was not part of God's original plan. He wanted man to live forever, in perfect health, on a paradise earth. Man disobeyed God and brought about sin and death to the human race. God's plan will still be realized. Isaiah 55:11 states, "So my word that goes out of my mouth will be. It will not return to me without results, but it sill certainly accomplish whatever is my delight. It will have sure success in what I send it to do." The Bible talks about a resurrection of those who have died. (Acts 24:15, John 5:28, 29) The Bible account in John 11:1-44 details a resurrection Jesus performed and which gives us the certainty that the resurrection of our loved ones will occur. The word resurrection in the Bible literally means "a standing up again" and "revival of the dead". The provision for resurrection of the dead is a magnificent expression of God's undeserved kindness. It displays his wisdom and power and is a means by which his original purpose regarding the earth and humans will be carried out. There is such a wealth of hope and knowledge we can gain from reading the Bible. Sincerely, Paula

Peggy was a talented, beautiful woman. We enjoyed being neighbors and watching our children grow. Thinking of you Tara, Meg and Marcus.
Arlene Gibbons (on behalf of the Gibbons family)
-----------------------
To all who loved Peggy, especially Tara, Meg and Marcus. You may not remember me but I remember your Mom - she was special - approachable, fun, easy to talk to, and always able to see the best in people. Back in the days before your Mom started Handmaids, the late 60s through the summer of 71, our family lived at the crest of the hill - 93 Pine Grove Avenue. I recall summer days and weekend nights babysitting for Tara and Meg...and the celebration when Marcus was born!
I'd like to share this prayer from the Rabbi's Manual in memory of Peggy. May your memories be a source of comfort for you.
"In the rising of the sun and in its going down, we remember her.
When we are weary and in need of strength, we remember her.
When we are lost and sick at heart, we remember her.
When we have joys we yearn to share, we remember her.
So long as we live, she too shall live, for she is now a part of us, as we remember her.
In the blowing of the wind and in the dull of winter, we remember her.
In the opening of buds and in the rebirth of spring, we remember her.
In the blueness of the sky and in the warmth of summer, we remember her.
In the rustling of leaves and in the beauty of autumn, we remember her.
In the beginning of the year and when it ends, we remember her."
Love,
Kacky Gibbons

I am so sad to hear of Peg's passing. She was a complete delight. We met when she was getting ready to move to Valley Manor and, after sitting at her kitchen table laughing and sharing stories that first day, we committed to having subsequent meetings over a glass of wine...me red...her white. She was truly a special lady...vibrant, boisterous, filled with love, creative, and exceptionally kind. My Caring Transitions team has worked with many clients over the years...she's the only one who celebrated her move by taking us to dinner after we finished unpacking. I'll miss her.
