Obituary of Peggy A. McNamara

Peggy McAniff McNamara, age 83,  formerly of Summit, NJ, passed away June 1.

 

She graduated from Perth Amboy H.S. in 1955, and went to San Francisco, where she met Joseph B. McNamara, also of Summit. It was love at first sight, and they were married for over 50 years. Peggy owned Handmaids, a local business which showcased global goods. 

 

Peggy accumulated experiences during her life. She was a vibrant world traveler who collected friends worldwide.

 

She and Joe raised their children in Summit and later moved to Rochester, NY, where Peggy volunteered for the Memorial Art Gallery and led travel committee trips. 

 

She is survived by her sisters Maureen Schwartzman and Kay Gross, daughter, Tara Whiting  of Portugal, her daughter Meg (Michael) Mundy of Rochester,  and her son Marcus (Emily) of Summit,  as well as her beloved grandchildren, Caitlin, Connor, Tara, Bella, Matteo and Quinn.
