I was so sorry to read of Jason's passing this morning! I sold Jason & Evelyn's home in Rochester about 20 years ago and moved them to Scottsville. Ian & Colin were just toddlers then. Jason was such a nice guy and we had a great time working together. I am sure he will be missed!

The nicest, kindest, happiest, most patient and joyful person I have met. A loving uncle to Tiernan and Gemma and a great friend and brother to Alan. Sending so much love to Evelyn, Ian and Colin.

I have shared 25 years of my teaching career with Jason. He was a close friend, confidant, and colleague. Our kids were the same age. We shared stories and worries. A kinder, gentler soul you will never meet. He loved his students and his work. Jason enjoyed life and had simple pleasures. Jason loved his basketball, coffee, snow days, and Sam’s chili. Jason will be missed by many. He was a gift we had for too short a time. I will miss my friend oh so much. My love and support are extended to Ev, Ian, Colin, and the rest of Jason’s family which he treasured.

I am so sorry to hear of Jason's passing. I substituted for Mr. Maihofer many times, and always enjoyed teaching with him, and teaching his classes. The world is a much lesser place with his passing. Again, I am so sorry - the news of his passing brought me to tears.

Dear family & friends of Jason Maihofer,
What a shock to hear of Jason’s passing! He was such a caring, wonderful teacher & friend! He was always so friendly & helpful. I remember him stopping by to chat or just sharing a friendly hello. He’s has touched many children’s lives and will be sorely missed, I’m sure. He was humble & quiet, but had a sincere heart. I feel fortunate to have known & worked with him. May the wonderful memories of your times together sustain you!!
Many blessings & love,
Marge Colonna Burgio (Gr. 5 & 2)

So very saddened from the loss of Jason. I worked with him at Holley School District for 12 years and saw how much he truly cared about his students. He was a great advocate for them. He was such a wonderful, kind and caring man whom will be missed dearly. You are all in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.

We are terribly sorry for your loss. Jason was my daughters teacher a few years ago. She was thrilled And excited when she was able to see.him at her Boces setting over the fall and was able to show him how far she had come. He was a compassionate, caring teacher and the educational world will not be the same without him.

So very sorry for your loss. Jason was such a kind soul. I had so much fun with him in our year and a half in the classroom together. He taught me so much about learning disabilities and autism. When he found out my daughter was struggling dealing with her autistic child he actually asked if I would like him to talk with her about my grandson. We had my daughter meet with us in our classroom after school and he really helped her with ideas she could use to cope and better deal with her son. I will miss him. His smile and his laughter. We shared a lot in our conversations and I could always tell he loved his family so much by the way he would light up when he was talking about you.Rest in peace my friend. You have already earned your wings here on Earth.
