He was always the friendly one. I wish I had more exposure to him.

My condolences go out to Bud's family and all who loved him. He was an extraordinary individual. I feel extremely fortunate to have met Bud. It saddens me to hear of his passing as I just found out yesterday when I asked about him when I visited the River's Run. I am a musician who often plays at their happy hours. I met Bud about 3 years ago. He would always be early to the musical events and usually was the last to leave. He was a bit of a maverick (which made him more endearing) as he would bring his own drinks with him and he would always insist to the management that the music needed to go longer than an hour. We struck up a friendship through the years and I have always looked forward to seeing and talking with him at the social events. He shared with me memories of his life ( and was always very humble for someone who accomplished so much), but more importantly he was very engaged in what was happening now. He would take a real interest in me and ask questions. He would tell me about his family visits and movies he had seen and what was happening now in the world. After talking with Bud you got the sense that he wasn't yet finished living. As I told the River's Run receptionist the other day Bud always seemed like this young vibrant person who just happened to be an octogenarian. I will miss him. He was truly one of a kind.

I had the pleasure of cutting Bud's "hair", and goat-t for the years he was living at the Legacy in Henrietta. In my time with him, he shared a great deal of his life and wisdom with me. He inspired me to pursue a career in law, which is now what I do for a living. He inspired many. He also was the life of the party at the Legacy. He was deemed Prom King at their "senior prom". He brought the party with him. (His cocktails)
He is going to be very missed. He has certainly left his mark on our hearts. God Bless you Bud, and may your family find peace in your absence.

I have been having dinner with my grandfather and mother every week for the past year or so. With every dinner grandpa would order a southern comfort manhattan. A couple weeks ago my mother and I returned to our regular restaurant and the bartender confessed that after grandpa had sent back his first manhattan for being too weak, she had ever since been giving him nothing more than southern comfort on the rocks. My grandfather had great stories and I'm glad I got to spend a lot of time with him in the past few years. Rest in peace Grandpa!
