Jack was Dad to me. We began to bond after Mary's death and I treasure all of the times we spent together. Yes I was the one that started Friday nite Happy Hour. It was a perfect ending to a work week-good food-drinks-laughter! Just hours before his journey above we were planning our Sunday cookout. The memories will be with me forever and I still have my brothers and sisters to lean on. See you Friday nites! Love ya Kathy

MY FATHER
What a strange and wonderful journey life takes us. As the eldest of the Conner Clan, I was not afforded the pleasure of knowing my brothers and sisters in their early years, one of whom I sadly never met.
In my early years , I was sheltered from contact with father, although I was always told that he existed, he was never really in my thoughts. Then there was that fateful day in May of 1971, as I was embarking on my journey into the Armed Forces. I stopped in Indianapolis to finally meet my Grandmother. Boy, did the world open up for me. There, standing in the doorway of my Grandmother's house was Donald Francis Conner. The only words spoken were from me, " Well I guess I don't have to ask who the f_ck you are", as it was like looking into a mirror, well maybe a future mirror.
He did, however bring reinforcements in my sisters Jackie and Cathy, that I never knew existed, and low and behold I learned there were more! We all finally met on the July 4th weekend at Dad's house and a beautiful relationship began.
Over the years we have all endured hardships, but for the most part we remember the wonderful times together. All of you know how much I love each and every one of you and cherish each moment we can share.
I wish I was there today but you all know I'm there in spirit. I will be with all of you soon and I love all of you.
Your big brother Steve

The words of our Lord may be most comforting to you at this time. At Matthew 5:5 he stated “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” Jesus words at John 5:28 and 29 give us the guarantee that he will resurrect those in the graves to live again. It is my hope and prayer that the Bible based truth of a resurrection to everlasting life gives you comfort and bolsters your faith in God and in the provision he gave us of the sacrifice of his Son’s death.

When we were younger we did not get to spend much time with grandpa because we lived so far away. He has been able to come to California several times in the last years and celebrate many important occasions with our family. This was very special to us and we know it was special to him too. We are fortunate to have been able to share so many great memories with him. Grandpa always knew how to put a smile on our face with his great attitude and his funny jokes. We will miss him greatly. We love you grandpa!!!!!

I could not begin to count all of the people that Jack and Mary extended their help and spiritual support to during their lifetimes, including myself. I am sure they are together now and will be looking out for all of their "children" from above.

I am so thankful that I was blessed by being accepted into the Conner family as one of their "adopted" kids. Jack always had a kind word and a caring open heart towards everyone. I learned so much from him and Mary. I use what I learned from them as a gauge for how I should live my life. Jack, you have earned your final reward. And there is a celebration in heaven today. I love you.

Awe, I am so sorry to hear that Mr. Connor passed away. I have a special place in my heart for him. Oh, the memories I have. The laughter we all shared together. The wonderful friendship he shared with my dad. The tears we shared together. The comfort he gave to me. I thought of him as a second father. I can't remember a time when he wasn't in my life. He will be missed. I will miss him. I can only imagine the cribbage game that both Mr. Connor & my dad are having now.
I will not be able to attend the calling hours, but know that I will be praying for you all. <3 Barbie
